Company demonstrates how artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things can massively reduce cooling power consumption in heat-generating data centers

Oakland, CA. (Sept 13, 2018) Vigilent®, the leading provider of dynamic cooling management systems, announced it has joined the Step Up Declaration, an alliance of businesses announced today at the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco, CA. This alliance is dedicated to harnessing the power of emerging technologies and the fourth industrial revolution to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across all economic sectors.
Using artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, Vigilent reduces the amount of power required to efficiently cool rapidly growing and heat-producing data centers and telecom exchanges.
“Inefficient cooling is an enormous waste of power,” said Dave Hudson, Vigilent CEO. “We have the technology today to slash cooling power by almost 40 percent. Every reduction of greenhouse gas emissions matters. We believe that AI-driven cooling can reduce annual carbon emissions by 50 million tons by 2025. Vigilent is a force for positive environmental change within a profitable business construct. We call others to do the same.”
Vigilent is also a member of the International Alliance to Combat Ocean Acidification, which helps coastal communities and ecosystems deal with climate impacts to the ocean, and is part of We Are Still In, uniting leaders from business and other entities to reduce emissions and stem the causes of climate change.
