Each year, Verizon recognizes its top two green suppliers at a special Earth Day celebration. This year’s award will be presented on April 19 at a ceremony in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
“The Vigilent intelligent energy management systems have made a remarkable impact on Verizon’s conservation efforts,” said Verizon Chief Sustainability Officer, Jim Gowen. “In 2011 alone we cut 55M kWh of electricity in our data centers and central offices and that translates to a cool 38 thousand metric tons of carbon dioxide – great for business and the environment.”
