Energy Management Systems

An energy management system from Vigilent includes everything you need – hardware, software, networking and support – to get up and running. Choose a packaged system when you're looking to retain ownership of all of the components, and plan it as a capital addition to your project or facility.

In our experience, it can often take from four to six weeks of evaluation and capital budget approval to move from initial consideration to the start of implementation. We'll work with you closely during that time to ensure that not only are all of your questions answered, but also that you have a customized configuration which addresses the specific requirements you identify.

Pre-sales Evaluation

Each facility has its own set of needs and technical issues, whether it's a commercial building or a data center. Although we'll provide you a quote based on standard components, no two applications are alike, and we believe it's important to work with you in the planning stages of your implementation to determine the specific requirements of your environment.

System Components

When you're ready to order an energy management system from Vigilent, you'll receive a custom quote that includes the following components; of course, the number and placement will be unique to the individual needs of your facility.

  • Sensor Modules – Depending on your configuration, your facility may require from tens to hundreds of wireless sensors, which are placed at strategic locations to obtain real-time temperature data.
  • Control Modules – Each CRAC or AHU will require a controller interface, which allows the server to directly control its performance.
  • Gateways – The nodes in the mesh network are managed by one or more wireless gateways, which provide the communication path to the server.
  • Energy Management Server – Each system includes a 1U rack-mount server pre-installed with the operating system and all required support applications.
  • System Software – System software includes the AI Engine Core, a browser-based Admin Console, and all of the underlying collection and reporting applications. Depending on your configuration, you may also choose one of two device control modules: BACnet-based communications designed for building control systems, or the Direct Control Module for direct device interface to VFDs and other units.
  • Basic Support Service – All Vigilent systems come with a one-year limited warranty and Basic Support Service. You may choose to upgrade to a more comprehensive program based on the uptime requirements of your facility.

When you're ready to move forward with evaluating how an Intelligent Energy Managementâ„¢ System can transform your facility to a Vigilent Data Centerâ„¢ or energy-optimized building, request follow-up from a Vigilent Solutions Architect and we will quickly get back to you.
