Mark has a long history of entrepreneurship in Silicon Valley, with over thirty years of high-technology experience.
Previously Mark served as CEO and Director of Glimmerglass, Inc., a leader in optical switching systems. Prior to that, he was Chairman and CEO of publicly-traded Digital Origin, and was brought in as the turn-around CEO of Radius, which became profitable under his leadership.
His career also includes responsibilities as President and Director of Media 100, co-founding Spectrum Wireless and Splash Technologies, and as Vice President and General Manager at Supermac and Siemens AG. He currently serves on the boards of Infocus Corporation, the leading manufacturer of projection display systems, Portrait Displays, a private software company providing embedded software for displays, and Specialized Saddles, a manufacturer of performance horse saddles.
On weekends, Mark splits his time between his love of sailing on the San Francisco bay and training and riding Endurance horses on his ranch in southern Oregon.
Dr. Federspiel is a leader and visionary in the field of energy management, having authored more than 50 papers on topics ranging from HVAC and CRAC control, to indoor air quality and cooling optimization. He is the recipient of the Ralph G. Nevins Physiology and Human Environment Award from ASHRAE, and holds numerous patents in the field.
Dr. Federspiel began his career in R&D at Johnson Controls after receiving his BSME from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo, and his SMME and PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1998 he joined the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a Specialist at The Center for Environmental Design Research and the Electronics Research Laboratory.
In 2004 Dr. Federspiel launched Vigilent, building on his pioneering research in dynamic cooling technology and wireless networking, to address the emerging need of treating cooling and energy consumption as a managed resource. Today, he is a leading voice in the field of sustainable energy solutions and green technology, and a frequent speaker at industry conferences, where he advocates for technology solutions for a better planet.

Larry leads the Engineering team at Vigilent, where he applies his thirty-five years of technical and management experience and strong track record of creating and shipping technology products.
Before joining Vigilent, Larry worked for more than seven years in the WiFi, WiMax and LTE field, leading a team at Pelco, a leader in security products. Prior to that co-founded CineForm, where he was involved in the development of HD editing products. Larry's experience also includes his role as CTO at 2M Invest, a venture capital fund, and leadership positions at Radius, Digial Origin and Media 100. Larry was also a member of the original team that designed and bult the Alliant FX/8 mini-super-computer, a milestone in the development of parallel processing computers for commercial markets.
Larry maintains an avid interest in areas ranging from communications and computer architecture to graphics and language design.
Elisa co-founded Vigilent in 2004, building on a long-time passion for sustainability and the benefits of a green economy. Today, she brings her more than 25 years of leadership in financing and technology start-ups to manage Administration at the firm.
As Syndication Manager for BancNewEngland, Elisa managed financial products sales including municipal, debt, equity and advisory services. Her early interest in green energy grew while working on the financing for one of the nation's first wind power installations, in Altamont Pass, California. Then, as an Assistant Vice President at Firstar Capital Markets Group, a subsidiary of US Bancorp, she focused on private placements, funding equipment leasing contracts and partnering with local offices of Johnson Controls to fund and implement building control systems and energy efficiency projects.
Elisa began her career managing lease products at Chancellor Corporation, where she administered the placement of $100 million of industrial equipment; and then at John Hancock Leasing Corporation, where she managed investor relationships and structured financing in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Elisa holds a B.S. in Finance/Management from Northeastern University.
Andy leads the Vigilent international sales organization, bringing more than 25 years of sales and executive management experience to the firm.
He began his career at NCR, where he worked for twelve years in a variety of sales and sales management roles, receiving numerous awards for contribution and sales performance, including twice ranking number one in sales performance out of 500 sales representatives. He has extensive start-up experience, and managed the U.S. subsidiary of the France-based Verilog, Inc.
Most recently Andy was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Glimmerglass Networks, a leading supplier of optical networking products.
When Andy finds the time, he can be found enjoying the outdoors on the golf course or hiking.
Chris brings over 30 years of leadership in high-technology marketing, where his expertise in building new markets from the ground up has frequently established his businesses as the dominant brand in their category.
As a strategic marketing consultant, Chris was responsible for defining broad portfolios of digital video and graphics products, one of the world's first e-books, and the Cisco Umi telepresence system. He served as Executive Officer and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Engineering at Sonic Solutions, where his team established the company as the leader in DVD authoring technology.
In his roles as Director of Marketing at SuperMac Technology and General Manager at E-Machines, he led the organizations that pioneered the creation of advanced solutions for color graphics and printing, and included one of the first desktop video editing applications, which became Adobe Premiere. Chris managed marketing teams at Wyse Technology and served as National Sales Manager at Amdek, and started his career at Hewlett-Packard. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.
Jim leads the Product Management organization, where he brings over 20 years of experience and a track record of entreprenurial success as a product management executive at both established companies and early-stage start-ups.
He most recently bootstrapped Novelx and commercialized the company's innovative nanoscale imaging technology that was acquired by Agilent Technologies. Prior to that, Jim productized the photonic switching technology of Glimmerglass Networks. Jim started his careetr at AT&T Bell Labs and held a variety of strategy and business development positions at Lucent Technologies.
Bob is responsible for the company's business partnerships, where he applies his passion for leading powerful technologies to broad success in the market.
Bob led business development and marketing at Telera, bringing the benefits of web technology to voice, which was acquired by Alcatel/Genesys. He then led Genesys' Managed Services business unit, which was recognized for its market leadership in the Americas, EMEA and APAC for four consecutive years. Previously, Bob led marketing for Centex Telemanagement, a firm which was #4 on the INC 100 and was acquired by MFS.
Most recently, Bob was an Executive-in-Residence at Gryphon Capital Management.
In his spare time, Bob enjoys hiking and supports various conservation initiatives.
Curt manages the manufacturing organization at Vigilent, where he brings his expertise in supply chain management, ISO 9000 and Title 21 quality programs, and efficient manufacturing processes to deliver the highest-quality products on time.
Curt's experience encompasses Fortune 100 companies including Chrysler, Intel, Motorola and Raychem, as well as start-up companies including Glimmerglass Networks. He has applied advanced manufacturing techniques in environments ranging from high-volume, low-mix to low-volume, high-mix, established structured supply chain quality programs and fast-ramp manufacturing processes, which resulted in lowered product costs while simultaneously improving quality.
Curt enjoys hiking and, when he's not on the trail, can be found in the water training for his next scuba diving trip.
Nick is responsible for all operations at Vigilent, including customer deployments, support and IT systems.
Nick brings over 20 years of experience in the Information Technology and Operation in companies from startups to large, multinational corporations. He joined Vigilent from Vintrust, a software provider for the wine industry. Prior to Vintrust he worked at Ellie Mae as Director of Information Technology and Business Operations. Prior to Ellie Mae, Nick also served as a technology executive at Dantz Development, Moai Technologies, and KLA-Tencor.
Nick is an avid Endurance competitor, riding his Arabian horses hundreds of miles a year in events throughout California and the West.
