This year’s TiE50 award recognizes the hottest startups, based on their probability of success after evaluation of their business model, IP value and leadership team. This premier annual awards program is keenly contested by thousands of technology startups worldwide.
CRN's annual Data Center 100 shines a light on the key technology vendors that are powering today's data center with everything from data backup tools to virtual data center solutions to cloud hosting services.
Lux Research included Vigilent in its top ten emerging technologies list, based on a critical, qualitative analysis of 1380 industry prospects. Each of the named companies, according to Lux, is positioned in the vanguard of an industry megatrend, by matching pressing social and economic needs for new technologies with the business prowess and R&D investment needed to bring them to life.
The GoingGreen Silicon Valley Global 200 list, produced by AlwaysOn, recognizes leadership amongst peers along with game-changing approaches and technologies that are likely to disrupt existing and entrenched players in green technology.
The Global Cleantech 100 List, produced by the Cleantech Group, highlights the promise of private clean technology companies from around the world by focusing on companies that are most likely to make the most significant market impact within the next five to ten years.
This HVAC Retrofit/Design category award recognizes the most innovative and efficient project in both a University of California and a California State University. Vigilent swept the HVAC Retrofit/Design category in a highly unusual two-school win, based on projects submitted by UC San Diego and the Associated Students of San Diego State University.
The TiE50 award recognizes the hottest, most promising startups in five technology sectors: Internet/Social Networking, Software/Cloud Computing, Life Sciences, Wireless/Mobile, Energy/Cleantech. Screening thousands of applicants each year, top companies are selected following a rigorous multi-tier evaluation process based on innovation, ingenuity, strong management teams and quality of ideas. Vigilent received the “top startup” award in the energy category.
The National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) 2012 Innovations Award recognizes companies for innovative practices resulting in an engaged workforce and ideas that tie stock to improved company culture or performance. The Vigilent wellness program was developed through a partnership with SlimKinetic. Vigilent is one of the first companies in America to proactively link employee health improvement with stock awards.
The Verizon Supplier Recognition Awards recognize companies that support Verizon's commitment to continuous improvement of quality and service through a passion for excellence. Each year, Verizon recognizes its top two green suppliers at a special Earth Day celebration. Verizon selected Vigilent as the winner of its 2011 Supplier Recognition Award in the Green and Sustainability category.

The Green Enterprise IT (GEIT) Awards are the Uptime Institute's highest honor. The Institute grants these Awards to projects, ideas, and products that significantly improve energy productivity and resource use in IT. Vigilent and NTT were recognized in the category of Facilities Product Deployment, for significantly reducing the energy required to cool its two largest North American data centers.

TiE is a global, not-for-profit network of entrepreneurs and professionals dedicated to the advancement of entrepreneurship. Over 125 companies were selected to exhibit at the organization's 2011 Innovation Expo based on technology contributions addressing important, unmet needs. Vigilent received the award for Best of Category, Energy in recognition of the company's significant contributions in reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint, while delivering increased uptime to mission-critical data centers.

Vigilent has been recognized in the category of Facilities Innovation, for intelligent energy management systems installed at the California Franchise Tax Board which yielded a 15% overall reduction in energy expenditures.
The Center for Digital Government recognized Vigilent, who in collaboration with the Department of General Services and the California Energy Commission, partnered with the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) to implement dynamic cooling control at the FTB's facility. The result was a 15% reduction in total energy use, saving over 310,000 kilowatts of electricity and reducing carbon dioxide output by over 300 tons annually.
