In order to ensure data center protection and uptime, the Alarms & Notification System leverages the extensive data provided by the Vigilent Monitoring System™ to notify operators and key staff when conditions in either the Vigilent system or data center change outside of pre-selected ranges.
User-configurable environmental and system-level alarms provide immediate notifications to the right people so that issues can be remedied before disaster occurs. Alarms can be configured for any monitored points, including rack inlet temperature, pressure, humidity, cooling unit power, discharge air temperature, or return air temperature.
The Vigilent Alarms & Notification system can be used for single site deployment but it is ideal for portfolio-wide management. The Alarm Engine is designed so that alarms can be monitored at any location, aggregated and dispatched for multiple sites, allowing organizations to consolidate their portfolio-wide monitoring efforts.
Alarms can trigger both e-mails and text message notifications to specific groups of people based on the alarm criteria. Integration with a central network operations center (NOC) is also possible via SNMP.
The system also supports escalation procedures to ensure critical issues are resolved if initial notifications do not result in immediate responses. Alarm definition, notification channels per user, and escalation procedures can be managed through a central user interface.
